When our partners at Pathfinder Bank tasked us to support Access CNY’s mission in the most powerful way possible, we immediately began meeting with the Access CNY team to gain an understanding of who they are and what they do. The aha moment was when we realized that by providing the kids of their preschool with their very first yearbook, we could assist in memorializing their memories and help keep the spirit of their school and class alive.
Throughout the calendar year, we worked alongside Access CNY to coordinate numerous photoshoots with the students and staff. From capturing special moments like spirit week and tye-dye day to individual portraits and classroom photos.
Once all of the yearbook content was captured and edited, we sent the images off to our graphic designer who soon got to work on the look, feel, and layout of the printed book.
When choosing a color scheme for the layout, we knew we were looking to create a bright, colorful, and interactive design. By pulling inspiration from the logo of Access CNY’s preschool, we were able to implement a variety of designs and color schemes throughout the entire book while also staying consistent and on-brand with Access CNY’s look and feel.
When it came to deciding on the front cover of the yearbook, our graphic designer had the clever idea of implementing an interactive coloring book that would work as an immediate attention grabber to the kids.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After completing the design and working with printers to get the books finalized and delivered, our team then worked with the project sponsor, Pathfinder Bank, to coordinate the yearbook reveal in a big way.⠀
With cameras rolling, our team worked to produce a video that helped shed light on the important work that Access CNY does in our community while also working with their incredible staff and the team at Pathfinder Bank to surprise the students with their first-ever yearbook.⠀⠀
After creating the video our marketing team took the lead to help develop a social media campaign around the project, complete with photography, copywriting, and distribution of the video on websites like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
Through our strategy and creative control over the project, our team was able to produce over 450,000+ brand impressions, 50,000+ video views, and 3,000+ brand engagements. This led to both an increased awareness of Access CNY’s positive community involvement as well as increased awareness of Pathfinder Bank’s #OurStoryBeginsWithYou advertising campaign.
